Target Audience

After thinking about the kind of people my TV channel would attract to and the type of people I would like to watch my channel I have come up with a "target audience profile" which is the following: 

• Aged between 16 and 28 as the channel isn't for young teenagers but not aimed towards the older (over 30's) generation. Though this is not "set in stone" as the content of my channel can interest a variety of ages.
• Males and females.
• Occupation doesn't really matter with my target audience, though they are more than likely to be in education (college or university).
• In their spare time my target audience would regularly attend gigs and take an interest in body modification, skateboarding, bmx biking and socialising. 
• They would probably spend their money on nights out, gigs, clothing. 
• My target audience probably would have resentful opinions about politics and the media. 
• Being "different" and "standing out" is important to them, they are probably the minority of society. 

I feel that although my channel is very specific, a varied group of people could enjoy the certain apects of the content of my channel so I found it quite difficult to determine a specific target audience. All in all my target audience is a group of people who are aware and interests lay within the "alternative" style.
